Floods, heatwaves, and storms – the consequences of climate change and the associated extreme weather hazards are increasingly affecting municipalities and cities. A significant opportunity to address this challenge pragmatically lies in utilizing sealed surfaces for the generation of green energy.
Photovoltaic canopies over parking lots and roadways offer great potential. This has also been recognized by policymakers: for instance, in Hesse, there has been a requirement for photovoltaic systems on new parking lots with more than 50 spaces and for state-owned properties since the end of 2022. In this way, cities and municipalities can significantly increase their solar power production without sealing additional land. Our construction is modular and sustainable. If necessary, our solar carports can be dismantled.

The demand for green energy will continue to rise. This is true even in municipalities that are already actively expanding photovoltaic and wind power systems. “E-mobility and the transition to more climate-friendly heating systems will further increase electricity consumption in the coming years. Municipalities must demonstrate what is possible. Even many small solutions together create a whole,” says Nadine Bernshausen, Mayor of Marburg.
As recognized experts in solar carports and canopies, we take care of the entire photovoltaic project: from the approval process through the complete installation process, including foundation work, to commissioning.
